| They should be fine. Sounds like you had a chance to witness something people don't often see! | |

| the moulter has vanished. I dont know if he/she has shead the remains. But all I can do it wait and see. I think he/she did it! I just got really worried that I had disturbed the process! But it was very cool to see the sibling protection! xxxxx | |

| Its possible to "help" them out, i had a B.jacksoni who wanted to molt upside down but forgot to pick out a good spot, so it fell down on his head and had problems, so i had to use a magnefirying glass and some needles so i chould help the guy.. so its possible to save them | |

| It's almost impossible to get a 100% survival rate, Connie. I think you're still doing really good so far. | |

| I dont know how many have survived. From counting under the tank we got 12. that could mean at least 5 gone because the others could be in other burrows. I really wanted 100% survival though. We have been putting in food yet they still want to each other or not moult properly. Little blighters! xxxx | |

| One case of digging them up over the course of the whole time you've had them won't be too stressful. And it's always a good thing to keep an accurate count. | |

| 19 Scorplings! I should I say 15 Scorpions and 4 Scorplings! Sadly...and I hope he/she will be ok. Adam was using tongs and I kept saying "their tails their tails" but he picked one up, all basically recently moulted...and he picked it up by its side...it crushed in.... Still alive so far....what do you think of his/her chances? Only a few more to moult...im just shocked so many...infact 100% so far have survived! Clearly that I had found and thought was a dead scorpion...clearly wasnt...unless I had 20 without knowing! Anyhoo. Teeny and Tiny are now in the kitchen in their own little tank with make shift hide. Heat mat and now I can make sure if they are feeding and also dont have to worry about the bigger 3I picking on them *such as I saw yesterday* Im so pleased! xxxxxxxxx | |

| If the one Adam had skooshed had JUST molted, and was still soft, there's a chance -- but if it had hardened and there was a "cracking," I'd think the chances of survival are pretty slim. I'd say it should be ok as long as there's no leaking and it's not so damaged that it won't be able to molt out of it later. | |

| Didnt hear a cracking but im sure its premoult. Will have to wait and see. Ive just been in to count them. Burrows already being made but 17 still on the surface under the hide. Poor little ones SCATTERED when I took the hide off to count. One didnt move but that one was inside a burrow entrace. Will check again later to find out if its the squashed one.
didnt see any leaking at the time. Probably internal damage but still alive as far as I can tell. Only time will tell.
Teeny and Tiny have been exploring. Last night I heard this squeaking noise and though "omg they CAN make noises that humans can hear"...I then realised it must be legs scrambling against the plastic of their kriter keeper type tank *which has lost its humidity so need to spray and cling film later* and one was STUCK behind the hide and the side so had to move the hide away from the side! I can tell these two little ones are going to be trouble!
Will try to feed everyone tonight. Heads chopped off all around apart from mum. Hopefully Teeny and Tiny will have a good feed!

| I think one of the cutest things in the bug world is watching baby scorps scatter. My Heterometrus babies do just that when I lift up their cork. Be sure to let us know how that one turns out. | |

| thats what mine did, cork up...off they scatter and in the group! like birds hehehehe Squishy still seems to be alive. I did check again and he is with the others pressed to the glass for the heat mat. He is in premoult but the dent is very visable...but surely still alive is a good sign?!? xxxxxx | |

| i know. But 19 still so far! 19 all along...makes me wonder what I found..maybe I did have 20! and one got eaten or whatever... I guess I shall never know I have to spay the TT *telsonless two* in a bit and cling flim the top. No humidity! Kritter Keepers suck! their temps seem good in there though! reading outside the tank is in the 80's yet still pressed. Was funny watching them have a tiff this morning! I felt ok because they cant really hurt each other! bless! Im sure they will hate the spray. My only concern is the lid I have put in, a tin cover lid...its WAAAAY deeper then the other one we have...they better not drown! will take some water out too! They are dinky! xxxxxx | |

| so more moulting. And like one another I saw, moulted with problems! Adam told me wednesday night that the little one had finally stepped out of the moult, only to have the two middle right legs not work! Was told the little one was dragging them! I tried to find the little one last night but as they all scatter and run, hard to see who had movement issues! What am I doint wrong? why is moulting becoming a problem? I have humidity up and temps are good... xxxxxx | |

| There's always going to be a few weaker babies that have more problems than the others -- those are the ones that wouldn't make it in the wild and would thus help strengthen the wild gene pool.
Don't stress out too much if you have a few that don't make it. Your brood has been wildly successful thus far (it far outdoes my own track record, that's for sure!).
What I'm trying to say is that no matter how good of a scorp mom you are, you're not going to have a 100% success rate. (In other words, you're doing NOTHING wrong, to answer your question.) | |
