| *blushes* My little babies are very very adorable. I loved seeing them on mums back and on mums back they dont move a lot. Mum had one on each inside of her Chela hanging on! was so cute!!! I liked seeing them get bigger on mums back before the moult. And then one and then two were bigger then the rest, tail looking HUGE and then before I knew it all were off her back!!! With most of my pics I have put how many weeks old. So it wont take long for them to grow and change xxxxx | |

| awww bless you scorpio for reading this whole thread! I do think I will do a breeding report soon and have it all in one place without the chatter inbetween *which doesnt bother me by the way* But if I do a report, dates and how many weeks old will be easy to see and will help other people with an idea.
UPDATE: 9 weeks and 3 days ---> I think another has moulted, its very hard to tell again since all are hidden! but I found a chela "skin" in the middle of the tank yesterday evening. They are all taking their sweet time! Forgot to pop in food yesterday so will do that tonight. But I cant imagine they will eat if they are all getting ready to expand and get outta their shells hehehe I just wish I had the whole "skins" instead of bits and peices! oh! and I will not be keeping them all. I am in talks with Marwell zoo for them to take them...but already I want to keep or at least keep them until older so I can sex and keep one male and two females...but we shall see! Chances are I might get rid of some before then. Im not doing anything though until they all hit 3rd instar
xxxxxxxx

| If you pop in food while they're molting, be sure to headcrush it first. | |

I belive that its only the family Buthidae that you need special permit for in the UK and since Het and Pandius is from the Scorpionidae you shouldnt have a problem.. | |

| i think my scorplings are gonna come of moms back any day now..... maybe tommorow. i just hope she doesnt see them as food,so ive been fattening her up a little bit. i put a massive cricket in her tank and kept a close eye on it in case it started to chomp a baby. she found it and nearly ripped it in half with hunger its been her first feed for a while. | |

| I doubt she will eat the babies, she knows they are her babies and animals survival is to have babies so you continue into the "future" you know. Seed and all that. She will only munch if stressed But its ok, you can talk about your scorplings in your section | |

| I have pictures of the babies already in this thread. Go though the lot as I cant rememeber what page. I think page 7 is feeding pics and also some before on another page from when they came off mums back. Scorpion101 I dont mean to sound harsh as not my intentions but I just want you to have all your scorpling info together so you can find your information whenever you need it. | |

| Feeding time yesterday! I think only one cricket has been munched so far. If the other two still around tomorrow morning they will be removed.
Enter one cricket...goes to go down a burrow and freaks out a small baby...he/she rans...it then goes to go down another part in the burrow and all of a sudden FLAILS! been caught by the face...dragged down and into the burrow by the face...I dont think that cricket made the night teehee
Stingy has also eaten! good grrrrl!

| after 10 weeks, only 3 have moulted into 3I. its ok. I know they will all do it when they are good and ready! Temps seem fine, ok granted they drop from time to time but my bedroom is always kept as warm as possible. We are NOT leaving the heating on all day for them! I checked before it got dark if there were any new moults. Nothing. go to bed at 10 last night and right in the middle of a tank, a perfect moult! Ive kept it! Im just annoyed that I missed it! *pouts* Im at my parents tonight, I bet knowing my luck more will have moulted while im away! xxxxxxx | |

| time 9:05 am Ive just gone into the bedroom, he still asleep! I turn on the light and decide to have a look in the scorpling tank. One out in the open with another next to it, 3I I can see from the size and all of a sudden one 2I comes out of the borrow and begins...what looks like "stinging" himself/herself! I see moult peices around the two out in the open. I then notice and realise whats happening. The one closest to me is moulting, with one standing guard and a 2I must have got a "distress" signal and came out to help protect! The moult seems attached to leg....I hope I havent just risked the scorpions life by disturbing. Hopefully he/she will continue to moult and step out of the old "skin". Will leave in peace and check back in 2 hours time! should be all done by then! ive read before about guarding but I now fully believe that Pandinus Imperator look out for each other when in a big group. They clearly communicate to each other when feel nervous about a "hunter" around. Its funny because an hour ago I looked and no one was out and about! I now fully believe they moult outside their burrows. I guess they get the humidity down below, crack open and then venture outside to complete the process...if only mummy wouldnt disturb them eh! xxxxxxxx | |
