Scorplings

I think it will be okay sometimes they survive a bad molt and just end up sligly deformed and sometimes their next molt will take it off. If it's moving okay and what not you should be fine.

what enclosure do you keep your scorplings in???
if it is a plastic one with too much ventilation then try changing to an aquarium

it is plastic but not too much ventilation.

Its horrible watching the little one struggle with his two legs stuck in some "moult".
really is horrible.
We dont want to pull or tug on the legs though.

I dont think he will make it, even at 3I he is much smaller then the other siblings.
I think they are BOTH just under developed and to have lived so long is just a miracle

dammit. Now Tiny is moulting!
Last night he looked different, lighter in colour. This morning by the head noticed something poking up. HOPED it wasnt a moult about to happen...well yes...Tiny is now moulting
Im nervous!!!

Teeny *bad moult* has two legs trapped and to be honest, doesnt look healthy! I really think death is on the way. He is just sat out in the open looking sorry for himself.
Im trying not to be attached but ive nurtured them, ive saved them from siblings, given them their own little home, had crickets without heads put in.
But there is only so much I can do for them!

And now...Tiny is moulting. Fingers crossed he makes it though ok and doesnt get into trouble!

I do have the camera and have just tried taking pictures of my telsonless two but it wouldnt take a picture!

You can see one of the telsonless two in the group feeding pictures. One of the telsonless ones has a massive cricket with another sibling after it.

Tiny is 100% out the moult now and "drying out"

and then there was 18 scorplings again.
Teeny was dead this morning. I suspected it was going to happen since he had his legs curled in like a "dying spider" and this morning tail was relaxed.

We didnt do enough for him Should have removed him from the hole sooner so he could have moulted properly.

Now Tiny is all alone in the tank *sighs*

R.I.P Teeny.

doesn't one of your scorplings have paralyzed legs from a bad moult??

I think that one has recovered now or at least when seeing them scatter have not noticed one moving slower.
One was also squashed but ive not seen a body and ive not noticed one with a change...so many it all plumped out again?

In the next few months I will dig up their burrows and do another head count in the tank to check numbers.
I think in the tank there is one to moult, but to be honest I think all of them have reached 3I now and thriving!

All doing really well together

Will be feeding time again today.

Adam and I are buying a digital camera today! the one my parents lent me is running out of battery *again, they always do that!

poor teeny....... at least tiny made it out ok, and the other scorps are doing fine!

have all of yours burrowed and how on earth do you dig them out of their burrows without hurting them??? i accidentally lifted a rock onto a burrow that i couldnt see and my cork bark got a good stinging. when i get slings i dont want to bury them in their burrows or worse crush them to death.

Sorry I missed all this, Connie -- but I'm glad to hear one of the "Telsonless Two" made it out ok.

I have to admit im a little concerned!
Tiny's tail is all white. Surely it should have changed colour by now?

i think it stays white until after a good number of sheds.

The tail, not the telson...which isnt there since Tiny is without a telson

The whole tail is white, the others never had this "problem" when they moulted into 3I

Give him a couple days just in case -- my female jacksoni was still pale for almost a week after her last molt.

is it still white???
