Quick Q... how often and what do you feed them?

How about a look at the pectin to see if it is indeed a female... I just read the posts on ab and you were still not sure about the gender, and you were feeding roaches. Not to burst any bubbles but it may just be overweight.

If you know she IS a she then I would say yes gravid...but if you are infact feeding roaches then it could be she has eaten far too much and is now not eating because she is fasting. To be really sure dont feed her for a while now. If she goes "back down" then no but if she stays as she is then I would say yes?

Is she also very moody and agressive? Moody and agressive, not eating and being huge is a sure sign of being gravid *for me anyways*

But looking at the pictures I would say not long left to go!

Has anyone seen a scorpion that fat that wasn't gravid or in premolt?

id she she was prego. she's MASSIVE!

i feed them adult male dubias.

but in the past few months i havent seen this scorpion eat or get out much. then yesterday when i showed my friend, it shocked me to see it that swollen like that.

and i feed them once every 2 to 3 weeks.

maybe im not looking right but that looks male to me..

Connie those are all pics of a female (the same female) you can tell by these features)
space between combs: wide span for a female and nearly parallel to each other ///////|<--->|\\\\\\\
teeth length: females are shorter
operculum direction and shape: female is heart shaped and points down \/

the first two pics are the clearest and show what I describe quit well.

now @ 4thGEN, I'll go with gravid too, if feedings are spread out to an adult roach every 2 weeks or so, any more frequently and it'd be a toss up between prego and obese

lol, that one is also huge BUT likes to eat and venture out in the open.

Not all scorps will act alike when gravid, some stop eating and moving, some keep active and feasting until they pop.

well thats good then. ill have to get pics of the newer emps i have.

What do you use to take the underside pictures? I have been waiting for mine to glass dance... but that doesn't work too well.
