| Move all other scorps out from the tank (not the mum) and keep it warm and humid. It'll be awhile till she's done. | |

| Congratulations! You might want to move the other female to a temporary enclosure to give mom a the babies a little space...but only if it can be done easily and with minimal disturbance. Don't dig her out. If she is staying in a different hide it is okay to leave her there. Keep it warm and humid like you have..."if it's not broke, don't fix it," applies here. The babies will stay on mom's back until they molt to 2i...they will start to climb down after that and you can carefully move the babies to their own individual containers at that point to more easily feed them head crushed pinheads and let them grow and molt without risk of siblings cannibalizing freshly molted siblings. A tackle box works well, or individual deli cups. For now just let her be...birth is a tiring process. You could carefully place a head crushed cricket/roach...whatever she is used to as a feeder. Possibly a small water source nearby. She knows what to do. Create the least amount of disturbance and stress till the babies molt and dismount. It is not uncommon for some babies to not make it...mom often can gobble on them, IF it happens at all. Mainly just keep her low stress and undisturbed. Could be at least a week or two before they get to 2i and start to move off. Enjoy the brood and congratulations on breeding a species that may no longer be exported and so easily available! | |

| There was documentation of female Pandinus imperators helping the other mothers by distributing food and such.
Do you know if Kato was killed? If so , that may have been because the female did not feel safe with him around, and so she "took care of the problem".

Imo, this is the best advice that can be given when your female gives birth.

| I've got 2 sets of baby emps from a months ago and from 2 weeks ago births. The ones from 2 weeks ago are leaving moms back on their own so I can either leave them with her and let them fend for themselves for food and such or I can separate them individually or keep all the babies together. My concern is knowing who's eaten and who hasn't so I personally like the keep them separate and dote on each one like a first time mother.
But honestly you can just leave them with her forever and let them figure it out.

| After the babies come off the back, you can either form a communal tank, or separate them into different enclosures. If you decide to make a communal tank, make sure there is enough food for everyone. | |

| I'm in Canada and I have 23 of my own baby emps and 3 adults. That's after trading 10 of them for other scorps with a local dealer.
Some people on the site are going crazy for emps. So sell them off at like $8-$10 plus shipping. You can make some money and play off the ridiculous people who are buying up every emp they can find.
But if you really want me to take one I'd be honored.

| I take the cap from a water bottle drop some fish aquarium gravel in there and then kinda push it down into the substrate so they don't have to climb to find water if they want. | |

| They will drink from the substrate or off the mist droplets on the side of the enclosure/deli cup...no need for a water dish for the babies. You can take them out after they molt and start climbing off of mom's back. Get a blacklight | |

| I would be worried since crickets are bigger then them now. I would say head crush large crickets and toss them in around 3-5 at a time. Mom will be very hungry now. Mine moms ate 6 crickets in 2 days after the babies came off. My 23 babies eat every last scrap of the 3 or so crickets I've thrown in head crushed every day since I put them in their own critter keeper. | |
