Hey guys getting my first flat rock scorpion tomorrow anything I should know?

How is it doing so far?

Its doing great I recently was checking him out today and he was getting his exercise by running around in circles chasing his tail haha and eats actively. Smile

Cactushugger: What are your personal opinions on this genus/species? A buddy of mine has a couple of them for sale that I've been eyeballin'

They are the aliens of an already alien looking animal. Very bizarre.

Ill just tell you this that they have alot of energy for a scorpion maybe that is just babies but dang its crazy! Definitely get one! I love mine and he is energetic and doesnt hide all the time which I love! Ill put some pics up when I can.

Mine can really move when he wants to. And he's my "strongest" scorpion, even when compared to my Emp.

That string stick thing on the left hand side is substrate that decided to stick to the scorpion.
I'm not sure on the sex of either but I would like to bring them home with me.

They're both female. The one on the right MIGHT be a male but the tail is kinda blurry to tell these are sexually dymorphic species. Females have short segments on the tail males have them really long. (if they're mature)

I would like to have a H. paucidens someday. Flat rock scorpions intrigue me.

They used to be so affordable a few years ago.

Indeed..it makes it easy to determine the gender.

Backwater reptiles had them for an okay price. $15.99 isn't too terrible in my opinion (but it's the shipping that'll get ya).
