I was able to get a 55 gallon tank at the Petco sale! (And adopted a hermit crab at the same time.
)
So, now I have to figure out how to safely move FemScorp and the 14 scorplings into that new tank. They have turned their current 20 gallon long (that has six inches of substrate) into Swiss cheese, and I haven't seen any of them in a couple of weeks now. Yay that they're comfy! Boo that I have no idea how to get them out of there.
FemScorp is one nasty lady and I do not want to risk getting tagged. I have no idea where her primary burrow is. I've seen her claws in the tunnels that are all over that tank, so I'm not sure she's staying in one place. Plus, the babies are at least 3i now (they are shredding and hiding their molts so I have no idea where they're at or how many are left) and I really don't want to get stung by them either!
How can I go about moving a bunch of scorpions that are always hiding? I've got some time to work out a safe plan as I still have to paint that blasted room before I set up the new tank.
Any advice aside from digging them out slowly with a teaspoon? (Cause that's the current train of thought.)
