Scorpio maurus near tag expereince

Today I was cleaning out dead bits of crickets from my SM tank i know these guys are agressive but this is the only scorp i have that will go from one side of cage to other just to sting an intruder, anyway as i moved a stick he emerged from his hide under his rock about four or five inches away in attack pose and rushed my finger with his telson swinging whole time. i got outta way in time but i was wondering is it normal that they are this agressive, he is very small, smallest of all my scorps, so it was more amusing that anything that he was willing to go after my hand in that manner. Share if anyone has any similar stories on this species

Haha , yeah mine is either sleeping in his tunnel shaft or guns blazing! lol. I noticed he was a lot more docile one I added a lot more sand and he made his burrow though

Man awsome pic thanx for sharing, i actually just finished redoing my SMP tank today, deeper substrate that will actually be compact for burrowing ill post some pics of it tommorow

He looks really cool. I love the maurus. Yeah they can make some damn deep burrows . Wet the sand a bunch , it helps promote burrowing. Ive seen picture online of 16inch deep shafts with a little den at the bottom haha. I cant do that with my little 5 gal tank i have him in right now, but he's still tiny right now anyway.
