| Actually you cannot kill these. I think they're prolly one of the most resistant, active and brutal scorpions in existence. They are all doing great!
Can even say all of them are in premolt onward i6. Thats 4 more transvaalicus.
I'm going to breed armies of these no doubt :-) My gravid female already is sunbathing for quite some time. I think she will be popping very soon.
Everyone should have one!
I just hope there will not be many more males, because I'm already blessed with two now (one adult). Thats enough.
What I did notice is that the ones I raised seem to be fairly (much) smaller than the WC I have. Granted, they need one more moult, but they will have to make a superjump in size to catch up with the WC adult ones here.
They went from I3 to I6 from june 30th to oktober 1st. Thats 3 months from i3 to near adulthood. Might even dare to say you can raise them to adulthood in 6 months time, which to me, seems pretty quick for this kind of large scorpions.
Awesome species, plus the fact the venom spitting is highly overrated! You will not get them to flick unless you severly outrage them, which in normal circumstances you never do. Honestly, they are not really beginners species, but its these that keep you most interested and its these that will keep you on your toes not to get stung by ANY scorpion as an avid enthousiast.
They may not be the prettiest nor the most exotic (Tityus hands down) nor the most energetic (Hottentotta), but they are the most fearless and brutal, not to mention one of the largest scorpions alive!
To give an idea, it is larger than a Hadrurus arizonensis and its venom is weight per weight 42x as strong.

| They are about the same (overall, villosus have bigger recorded specimen and tend to be more slender).. being the transvaal more heavy tailed. | |

| I know dude, but I did manage to get 7 scorps alive to your surroundings, not too long ago. It was done as a test, it worked.
It did take a very long time to get there though and I dont want to have the animals go through that again. So you're right.
I'm sure people will have these around your vicinity too!

| Looking good there Mr T! I can assure you, now they just got bigger, but next molt they will change body shape into more of the adult look. Each molt will get them the fatter tail and dark coloration.
It is awesome to observe!
Good luck with it, and should you ever need more I will send you more for free.

| One of my bicolors finally molted to 3i last night #1 #2 And my B. albopilosum molted as well. It has released from the old exo, but apparently there's a spot of old exo left in the abdomen. Hopefully all will go well in the next molt. | |
