Well anna, these guys dont live near you. They are from Peru and the Obscurus are from Brazil. So I doubt its these guys you ran from.

Lol go for it Bex!! Should see them irl, they move unlike any other scorpion I have seen, plus they do everything upside down.

Yes! One of my obscurus is molting upside down! Exciting for me since I only have 4 of these and nowhere near able to get more alas they're pretty rare down here.

Hehe idd Anna they didnt steal their names : T asthenes (and T obscurus Guyana devil scorpion) = black devil scorpions. They dont have common names, but generally are given these names. The chelae on these are huge.

yes,the barks are usually curled up siimilar to that when they are at rest.there pedipalps arent tucked next to their head so tightly though and point out more like devil horns.theyre really defensive too so when i touch their delis or bark they are on they assume the postion to run or attack and run.
when they move at normal pace there pedipalps are relaxed in front of em and there tails are up and semi curled.when they run pedis and tail to the air and gone.theyre pretty fast.they molt upside down,sideways or at an any which angle except for flat since ive had mine.ive seen em catch prey upside down,vertically,sideways on flat ground.they prefer the ambush but they will chase something down.

All Tityus obscurus molted as well as three more asthenes. Im having a ball with the exuvia!
Tityus asthenes instar 3 exuvium (the metal ball is the blunt end of a needle. Cob?) Sub. tub. visible clearly
