| Welll it just moulted DolbyR so it has quite a few days to get to the final color for that moult. I might say it is indeed darker. But these mauritanicus were just as black (dark colored) as my bicolor slings. So its hard to say.
I think they will be darker yes, they are however much more beautiful now since their tail is already getting bigger.
These are born around the end of May I think. So that gives, 3 months.. I did a comparison sheet and the Androctonus bicolor slings have an average of 80-90 days before moulting from i2 to i3 from birth.
Shows that mauritanicus are not far off that number. I might generalize and say all Androctonus. So you might have to wait a lil longer for your bicolor to get to i3 ;-)
But patience is a virtue and when they do moult, you will be happy as a kid.
They are kept warm (28-32 degrees) and 1/4 moist.
Anyway they're getting their metallic look already.
Oh yes, dont keep them too cold or they dont moult at all, leaving them dying.

| Sam,
Nice one buddy!! My A. Mauritanicus all molted to 4i mid-July, they are already FAT again. I'm prepared for the wait to 5i though, just patience is a virtue that I wasn't blessed with. However, they are worth it, such cool Andros!
Cheers,
Rob | |

| Lol nice one. Soon she'll take over your collection. No woman can be stopped when she puts her mind to something. Its a tough breed lol. Just tell her to be carefull. They look cute dont they? And at the moment they are not dangerous, I lift them with my hands. If you do it gently they wont sting. But they dont stay that way for long lol.
I hope you had fun getting them out of the box with the papers lol...
Yes, those are good, not too cold, not too hot.. They are still pretty small, but that will change soon. The moult from i2 to i3 isnt a big difference in size, but it is in shape. After that they will grow particularly fast.
I'm sure Dark can tell you more about that too :-) Since his andros are already pretty far into development. They must look very nice! I do think, DARK, you should post pictures!!!!! :-p

| Judging from that picture I'd say your substrate may be a little too wet. Looks very saturated around the dish you have there. | |

| Hmmm... well probably not the problem then. This is exactly the reason I stick to xeric species though. I started in the hobby with the standard tropical scorpions but had a very hard time keeping them alive. It hasn't been a problem for me recently, but I still prefer desert scorpions. I'm sure if you keep trying you'll figure it out eventually.
Do your use filtered or bottled water?
