| Well I dont see my little ones do it. But one of my adults certainly sprayed his goodies at me. They might not to it often, but they can do it and it is ligthning fast!
And if I may say.. a pretty big load too. I could see a fine strip of venom all over my lower arm.
They were just here so might have been stressed out a lot though. Now, they never done it anymore after that.

| Hey guys as bro street said. I notice my Ptrans climb's her enclosure right before I go downstairs. And after amh 5-7mins I saw her in this state Sorry for the bad quality. I shoot it with my brother's cp with low MP so... She's still moving her pedipalps and some of her legs and is that normal? Im afraid to think that she's struggling to go to her feet and Im also afraid to touch her now. Hope she gets a good molt *crosses finger* | |

I read some in the net that Parabuthus spp. do sometimes molt on their back.
This also helps them because they are much massive than other buthid's do.

| Could be, I don't have any experience with parabuthus. Maybe pluto or GS can say. But I've had 2 scorpions turn like this before, and both died | |

| I have experienced a few molts which happen like this.. "back-flipped". Might be a coincidence that all of them all males. Best way of sexing is still by pectine. Females will have the "knob" Congrats bro

| Specimen: Parabuthus transvaalicus Sex: Female Instar: 8 Purpose: Sexing via pectine, the presence of "knobs (basal middle lamella)" near the area where the two pectine meets, signifies a female. Males do not have these "knobs"

again, very useful! Do they have these points of interests too, at a young age?? Yes Sam bro They should be able to sex from 2i. I believe their pectine is fixed from birth, it simply gets bigger with each subsequent molt. Hence, to sex them via pectine at young instars is dependent on the magnification power of your camera's lens. So far.. i still can't do it with a mere close-up lens but i think Jay can do it with his macro lens.. Are you getting a prime macro lens with your incoming DSLR too? excited for you, there's so much to learn from your breeding projects which i think many will surely benefit from as well

Good suggestion! *thumbs up

| Been a long time folks, hope all is well! Just had to get on here and let all those who knew about my pending year long PT order with Todd Gearheart. I ended up with both PT's and PL's in the mean time but kept communications up with Todd on my order placed a year ago. He had some problems with his PTs and ended up finding a gravid female. When she finally popped he hooked me up with 9 cb's and also a pair of G. Pulchripe spiderlings. So all faired well in the end. If anyone orders through Todd, my advice is contact him first and order something that is currently in stock and not on it's way. If you do run into the same problem that I did and there problems with WC orders from 3rd world countries just keep the communications up with Todd and he'll hold true!
I'm gonna have to check this thread out again as it looks like there is about 15 more pages on this bad boy since the last time I logged in!
Keep the Parabuthus Love going GS!!
