Maybe not exactly THAT bad..but anyway...
Maybe minimum after a year I would even consider it. Need to jump up my collection and get a little more experience before I can get into medically significant species. Whenever the time comes, I can easily find them though, I know a few that keep them and are wondering what to do with the scorplings, a the local forums here have banned the trade with any lethal species of animals.

Like there's a saying i heard.. "You can do anything you want.. until the day you are caught"
And of cos, only when we are ready for the risks involved..
Good call on the patience my friend Very Happy

Well my wife is always too curious on the species, and specially about the toxicity. And, she knows exactly in which enclosure is what, and how many Smile

I guess I need something big that can be occasionaly handled, and that way she will get more used to them.
She did handle an adult Laoticus once without problems, so it's not mission impossible. I might have to bribe her with some herps though Twisted Evil

lolz.. i'm you with on that one.
So far i've only allowed my wife to handle AFS before, now she'll just handle the younger AFS scorplings(3i) once in a few months. For scorps of higher venom scale other then 1, she can only look from outside of the double cage.
Well.. not that she care anyway.. Laughing

Hey mate,
This is a good detailed writeup of Androctonus Australis by LKR. I keep all my deserts specimens similiar to conditions for my A.Australis. Perhaps we can chip in if you have a more specific question.

Hope it helps Smile

Few more Androctonus Bicolor pics of a freshly molted male of 6th Instar.

I took it last month. Not really good ones but luckily that is still some focus on the more important part.. the TAIL Smile

It seems true for most Androctonus Bicolor Males to have slightly thicker tails as compared to females.
Perhaps its because females tend to gorge themselves in preparation to having a healthy brood?
So as the body becomes FATTER like a cotton candy, their tail seems to get smaller.. ha

They are magnificent specimens GS, really cheers

I tend to think the tail difference is a trompe l'oeil also because of the female being bulkier.

Then again, maybe they do not develop such a big tail because of conserving energy for breeding indeed. Are there any real scientific studies done on scorpions in general?

I dont seem to find any on the net which hold scientific facts or studies.
Sorry for hi-jacking your stuff GS :-)
