| Thanks bro
Like you've said these guys are beasts, so I figured I'd take baby steps getting back into them since my incident with one a while back. Just want to get it right with these little guys. They are pretty bad [buttocks].

| Indeed Leiurus, they are one of the more euhmmm beastly tempered scorpions. In fact, the only ones that stand ground when I lift their lid. They are without a doubt, the more active out of all African desert species.
So you got stung? What did it feel like? Even meerkats look out for these lol

| Yeah saw your vids they def command respect.
To be honest with you it was prob the s h i t i e s t thing I've ever dealt with the pain of the sting was bad felt like someone burnt me with a cigarette continuously for about 45 mins but that wasn't as bad as being sick all day. I'll just say I didn't leave the bathroom all day and that was accompanied by a crappy headache to.

Just out of curiosity does anybody know what instar P. transvaalicus get the ability to spit venom ?
Or are they just born with the ability ?

| I'm not exactly sure, but I have heard that slings can flick it. Read somewhere that they are a bit more flicky than adults. | |

I wasn't sure, mine are still very small (2i). Just don't want baby spitters firing their bazooka's at me.

| Imho.. since they have the "ability" to flick venom off their telson. They "should" be able to do it from 2nd instar (since they have been using venom at 2i). Now, the thing is, how often do they do that? Imo.. very rare occurrence... I'm not sure even wild P.trans do that often but for all my captive breed P.trans, i've never seen them do it at all.. probably all this while as i've kept them, they don't feel threatened to the point of engaging their "bazooka" lolz But it is always good to be prepared and be aware of the possibility.. Better to overestimate then under

| Def better to walk the side of caution.
I've only seen 1 spit/flick venom and that was the S.O.B that tagged me.
My buddy opened up his shipment and took 1 out and as soon as he popped the lid Bam, he was lucky most of it hit the lid. My stupid [buttocks] said Oh he's feisty I'll take him. 2 months later got tagged by him but he never spit/flicked venom after that 1st time. Had a couple before him and never seen them do it.
