| I'm setting up a closet for a scorp (and other invert) room. It is a good size closet with floor space about 6 ft x 6 ft. I will have a small heater in the closet and a light on a timer. There is no natural light in the closet. I'm thinking a good average temp for most scorps, tarantulas, etc. would be about 80 degrees, perhaps a bit cooler at night and a bit warmer during the day.
For lighting I have a flood light shining on the ceiling set for 12 hours on and 12 hours off. I was wondering if the type of lighting is important to simulate daylight? Any comments regarding a good all-around temp? Thanks! | |

| If you are keeping desert scorps, i know some require drastically different temps than forest species, and humidity would be a difficulty too. | |

| Good points. I was thinking I would keep the closet at a low humitity and use moist substrate for tropical critters. Also, I could use a low wattage hermit crab heater on one side of the enclosures for crtters that required higher heat. | |
