That would be the coolest thing ever. If you could do that and figure it out for sure, that would be amazing. It would be a shame if scorpion owners were stuck with just the red IR bulbs their whole lives.

| Update on the access to spectrometer,
My friend working in the genetics lab said she has access, but justifying use for the bulb may be the bigger hurdle. I'll do my best to see if it could be done this week. Possibly include a bribe.. lol.

That sucks that you might need to throw in some money though, I guess if it puts this to rest it will be worth it huh.

| And how! I may not I'm not sure. I'll talk to her later today and see if we can set something up this week, find out the exact range on the spectrometers to verify it will sense what info we actually need. | |

| So apparently she didn't understand that I wanted to test the bulb, since her spectrometer is only used for DNA. I swear I mentioned the bulb when I first brought it up, but no matter. I'll have to see if I can make any connections with physics dept. people.
Sorry for the let down everyone.

| Thats ok good sir. Atleast your trying I myself actually forgot to contact Zoo Med about this, so I will do that right now. Maybe while your getting test results they can shed some light on this conundrum. | |

| To chime in my little understanding. Back in "the day" I had a black light incandescent bulb I bought to make my room glow and since forgot about it.
I also bought a blue night light for my scorps and found that they did glow a little under the exo terra bulb.
So I contacted mum and found my old lamp with bulb still intact and tried them both and found that my scorps glowed the same amount. One bulb claimed to not produce UV and the other one was sold as will produce UV.
In my humble opinion at this point the risk of using the blue bulb are too high and we know the red ones don't bother my scorps. So I'm using all red and looking like the pinchy and stingy brothel is well underway. Which is fine since I'm trying to keep my scorps in the mood any ways.

| @Yames: I agree sadly. I probably wont be using this night bulb anytime soon. Very disappointed. | |

| Has anyone made contact with exo-terra with our concerns? If so, what did they have to say? If not let me know and I'll send them an email or msg.
I really do like the look at night time of the night bulbs, would be a shame to have them and not use them.
