| +1.
Also, you can tell if a emp is an adult by looking at the coloration of the telson. If it is an adult it will be red or dark orange. If it's not an adult the telson will be a pale orange or yellowish color. (When they are very young, they have white telsons.) But, as previously stated, you can't tell the exact age of a scorp.

| Is there anyway I could always keep his cage moist? I just bought a 10G fish tank. It is a rectangle shape and it has a window screen like lid. Should I leave it how it is or cover some of it up | |

| This is my emperor's new cage. I would like some comments on how I did it, if it's correct, and possibly anything concerning the lid. Please. Thank you. | |

The telson is the stinger. - EmperorJr. wrote:

I'm going to direct you to this thread: New Enclosure Project It goes over a "false bottom" setup, which will keep your enclosure moist. As for the lid, some people partially cover the screen wire with plastic wrap, to keep in the humidity. You can also get a piece of plexiglass cut to fit the inside lip of the tank, so that it covers around 70% of the available space. Then you can put the normal screen top over it. (If this process is unclear, let me know and I will post pics.) This option is obviously more expensive though.

| the way you could keep the substrate moist is by using a false bottom there are many ways to make a false bottom such as using aquarim gravel, or screen with nylon rope. therea re a few tutorials in the how to section of the forum here. you can also use a spray bottle and mist the enclosure every day/few days like i do. my kritter keeper is too small to add water with a glass without drowning it. or you can do like Mikey does and just take one glass of water, and pour it into the corner every week or so. it works for him :3 a 10g should be big enough to do that as far as the telson the telson is the "Bulb" after the metasoma [tail] and attached to the aculus [sting] EDIT: woah did i not only get a +1 but someone linked to one of my threads?! im nerdgasming | |
