| Haha I cant win, go acrylic and scratch it, go glass and crack it.
Nah it was sitting empty, was about to set it back up and knocked it against something. I've already made the mistake of being impatient drying out and cracked one but that wasn't as nice of a tank.

+1 Once you do it, you'll be DIY'ing enclosures in no time. What size is that enclosure btw? And what have you kept in it actually?

| That enclosure is about 10"x10" without actually measuring. I used to keep a madras in it but that's how I found they're not good for burrowers. Then I had a B. boehmei in there last because she doesn't burrow at all but how it looks there is just after taking everything out.
You have a point there Will. I should really attempt to repair it and I think I will have a go otherwise it's just getting thrown away which is a waste but to be honest I wouldn't know where to start and will have to do a little research first.
I've siliconed bits in tanks before but it's just finding somewhere to get the glass I suppose.

| How was it sizewize for the boehmei? working with glass is not too difficult, even if you have to cut it yourself it's not a big deal. Just score and snap | |

| To be honest it could be 8"x8" I'd have to check because it was tighter than the 12"x8" it's in now. I don't think it's fully adult yet either. I'll let you guys now how I get on with fixing the tank, or breaking it more. | |

| Wish I could say the same about my B. boehmei haha. All she does is dig, close up tunnels, and make new tunnels ...one day she managed to clear the whole bottom. I don't know how it didnt collapse on her. | |

| Ha nice spid mate, some of my Ts turn their enclosure upside down too, its hard to get them out then though, specially baboons. To be honest mine did burrow while it was small but just sits at the front now. | |

My N. chromatus and B. albopilosum were the same. Well..they're still small, but they just stopped burrowing at one point.

| Jaimie, if you are extracting a burrowing spider to re-house it, the easiest way to get them out of their burrow is to slowly fill it with water. Just pour water in a corner leaving the burrow entrance undisturbed. They will come out on their own as their burrow fills. Obviously this isn't the best way to do things if you aren't re-housing them though.
In my experience most spiderlings burrow, even arboreals. Like you said though Dolby, eventually most just stop other than obligate burrowers. My A. chalcodes dug out a chamber beneath her hide and now she never uses it. She sits out in the open all the time, and when she does use her hide she usually doesn't go in much further than the entrance.

| Good tip there street! I'll bare that in mind future T re-housing.
I've found all my new world terrestrials have stopped burrowing, or rather like you said street they make a burrow but never use it.
