I have been debating which way to place my lamps on my 40 gallon enclosure which has two emps who chill in the same hide togther.
Option 1 - Two 75 watt infrared lamps on one side with acrylic cover on 75 percent of right side to keep humidity in
Option 2 - 1 lamp on each side and I would have to cut a piece of acrylic to go along the back full length of the tank
I am thinking option 1. That's how I have had it and they seem to be ok. They don't come out much to go towards the heat side so i think they are ok with the temp. I would assume if they are really cold they'd come out to the heat side more often? I also worry that if I have a lamp on both sides it will be much harder to keep the humidity up.
Thoughts?

Personally I always setup a temperature range like you have in option 1... As long as you place cover for the scorpion in both ends, you should be good

Yeah I'm gonna add a second hide on the left side in case they want time alone lol.

I would go with option 1 as well. I've also noticed that once they dig a burrow, they tend to stick with it even though the temp might not be optimal. I think they're probably hardwired to favor safety and security over comfort.
