It is pretty messed up yes. Thats why I said I'm ashamed to know these videos even exist. Actually, there is more cruelty on that side. Good thing its only one site doing these things.

I agree with you.
I also agree that if the pede and scorp were around the same size, the scorp would probably win. But then again, in the vid they dropped a centipede on top of the scorpion. If they dropped the scorp on top of the centipede, I think the outcome would have been different. I still like scorps better though.
I will try to post a vid of a Scolopendra heros I saw at a local bug show. (The vids are rather short, the camera was almost dead. Also it attacked the cricket before I could even turn on the camera)

Both are great killers, but scorpions are more predictable in their actions, so i prefer them for that.

Ye, I got some nice tanks now, but they have a small gap in the lid. You have to secure more for the pedes. Thats what I hated about keeping spiders.
THEY ALWAYS WERE SO UNPREDICTABLE AND DAMN FAST ON GLASS. Vertical or not.
Pedes use their size and length to reach all places.
Scorps got my vote for being the better terrarium beast too.

Posted again what you deleted mate, but changed the way of doing it in "accordance to the rules". Thank you for pointing that out. It was helpful!
This since the comments made after, dont make any sense without those movies. Its now posted as a feeding vid through links for future readers, to not get confused.

I'm a bad bad person. Want a cookie? I'm sure Kejser can handle, and will inform me himself, fellow forummember.
Anyone else that wants to nit-pick because some personalities dont match one and another, please do so in pm or ignore each other, and keep this about the Scolopendra.

Gs dude,
Dont you have these in your vicinity? I heard of a Malaysian Pearl.. which is closely related to S. subspinipes.

I'm really hoping that there are some scolopendra centipedes at the expo on saturday!! I really need to scratch this itch.
Well I hope you find some. If you find some make sure you post pics. I need to get some too. I have wanted one ever since I saw the one in the pics above.

Centipedes are awesome. Feed em a mouse. Real savage. I wouldn't fancy a bite from mine. I'd imagine the venom being pretty painful, and they hang onto to stuff with their pointy sharp legs. Weird as hell to look at close up. All of it. You don't really need to double tank em but like plastic vivs/kritter keeper jobs, yeah the pede will try bite it's way out. Really if it can get it's antennae through it will have a serious attempt to get through any small gap. Thinking Valhalla is on the other side.
