| If you are looking for the same job as the pill bugs, get some tropical spring tails. They will live in there with the pill bugs, and will reproduce quite well. Your tank will definitely be cleaner. | |

| well my scorpions seem to be messy eaters and eat alot so they leave tons of crickets parts everywhere and i keep seeing baby crickets they dont seem to last long they always drowned in the water dish befor they get very big and the other day i saw little tiny bugs that were just walking/jumping across the top of the water dish they didnt really look like crickets | |

| Here is a link to Josh's Frogs. He sells large cultures for them. Click the "How to use" tab in the description for a video on how to culture them. They will breed in your tank and help clean up the stuff your pill bugs miss.
To help avoid baby crickets you can cut off the ovipositor of the female crickets. The can't lay eggs without it. It's the stick that comes out of their [buttocks].

| You know, I don't get this whole dumping a bunch of crickets in.
Why don't you just drop a cricket in front of the scorp when it's out? Scorpinox just snatches them up that way.......even if it's every day or every other day.................
Or do yours not come out?

| if you only have one or two emps in the tank i would take the time to herd a couple of crickets into their burrow or tong feed em.your getting all that mess because your lazy. the crickets are laying eggs because you dump so many in there and just leave em.the warm, moist soil is perfect for egg laying.then those baby crix die in the soil and water enticing more pests.your emps are messy because after one cricket another is there then another and another and being oppotunistic feeders they drop the old and in with the new leaving some leftovers.
springtails arent necessary just adjust your feeding habits and the pill bugs should handle what you miss.

I think what you are saying is that you were feeding them one at a time and keeping the crickets in a cricket keeper and the crickets kept dying? If you are keeping crickets, you also have to feed and water them and keep them at appropriate temps to keep them alive longer. If that helps.

| word Annababycakes.
crickets have a horrorible shelf life even when you do provide em with the luxury of water source and food.every week i buy 15 adult crickets for my emps.on the way home at least two are dead, the emps eat 6 or 7 crix between the two of my emps and i have one or two crix left over by the time weekend comes around.they dont eat everyday either so the crickets have time to eat and die.grrrrrrfdjfiejldkjfk
im tired of crickets in general, poopy, noisy, always dying before eaten hoppy, bitty eyed staring voyeurs.
if you feel the same as me jfilyau, dubia colony is the answer.

| Blaptica dubia roaches. No smell and live for months and months. Start a colony of them. Look it up. Be advised though that dubia burrow. Blatta lateralis roaches do not burrow, but don't get as large. | |
