PostSubject: Need Help Sexing some scorps.   Need Help Sexing some scorps. Empty8/18/2011, 9:29 am

So..I know I have male and female U. mordax and male and female P. imperator because I have pairs and compare side by side. Need help with a few of my others. My apologies in advance for the blurryness of some pics. My camera isnt that great and neither are my photography skills. I also listed three that I 'think' are female as being possibly gravid. Hoping others can help me with what they think there also. Thanks!

your Vaejovis to me in that pic looks like a female possibly gravid, going to molt soon or really overfed.

Babycurus looks like a female too.

Hadrurus looks like a male with some mycosis.

the rest i dunno.but your smeringurus also looks gravid, going to molt or overfed.

hopefully someone who knows more than me can chime in.

Well I posted this a while back. Researched more and sexed them all myself. B. jacksoni and Vaejovis were infact female and were infact both gravid. I have two broods of baby scorpions now. Smeringurus isn't over fed. So I'd go with gravid or molting myself, although she seems pretty active so Im just keeping an eye on her. But glad I've been studying up on all this because now I can tell the genders of scorpions pretty easily. Wink

Yeah, some not getting seen is understandable, but yea it did cause me to go on an all night study on the subject and Im glad Im more educated on it now. =D I'll have to research mycosis more then..Ive had him since April and he seems alright. He was like that when I got him. Id hate to lose him because he is one of my favorites.
