| Cool! Im curious. I thought only Parabuthus species grew that big molt per molt. The thing you see crawling out of the old skin is just mindboggling how big it can be housed in something that small. Looks like hottentotta use exactly the same trick. | |

| I'd say that she is about 2 1/2" from mouth to acleus now. At i2 her size was comparable to an i2 A. australis | |

| I've got to see if I can get video of her hunting. She is quite aggressive, much like your Parabuthus are. | |

| Oh yeah. Add them to the 60+ slings I've already got from my P. boreus. Ihave read somewhere that they can mature and start producing at i6, but I'm hoping she'll get to i7 before she starts popping on me. | |

Yes, they can start giving you broods at i6. The overrunning issue most likely comes in when you raise all the slings from your first batch to adulthood | |

| Something is fishy around house Sam. I have a Androctonus bicolor scorpling born on the 22nd of July which, today, turned instar 4..........
I have no idea why they are molting this quick in succesion with serious jumps in growth... DolbyR, do you have an instar 4 bicolor atm?
Something is strange, seeing people have bicolor scorplings which are older and still instar 2 or instar 3 max. I still have two instar 2s and the rest are instar 3 with one instar 4 and 1 suspected to molt very soon too...
Its cool though.
I'll take a pic soon

| @DolbyR Congrats my friend. Great specimens there. I like the pictures you posted. Seemingly an earthquake just happened at your place! @Sam Congrats too! Some Androctonus bicolors does molt fast. I've several 2.instar specimens has attained 5.instar in 3mths from birth. But their colors are not as dark and awesome like yours. Currently they are still residing in tackle-boxes... moving them to larger deli-containers soon | |
