| Sounds like you are getting along just fine! I would however put a thermometer inside the tank. My guess is it is not nearly hot enough with a small heatpad and a small lamp.
I think these species do best at atleast 28 degrees Celsius. At least... Small heating pads are dangerous when air cannot pass them (like on the bottom of a tank) and the profit through 4+ inch of substrate is marginal to say the least too...
I'd give it coco fibre or potting soil without added fertilizers with vermiculite (dunno how its written).
Away with the pad, fix a big big red lamp right on its head.. Where it can run away if it is too hot, spotlight sort of...
Make sure it has a burrow, has to be tightly to the ground and a waterdish. Make sure the lid allows air flow, but retains moisture. You can do this by covering a part of the lid with solid plexi or use the false bottom method, described on this forum lots and lots of time.
Cannot think of much else really, good luck | |

| On the flip side I will say Habistat heat mats are good, get to a decent heat but won't melt plastic tanks. Just in case you have to sleep with your scorps like me lol I'd use a lamp otherwise though. | |

| Infa-red heat bulb and a heatstrip taped onto the side. And whip scorpions are the bomb. They're so weird looking. | |

| Will a scorpion be happy with just a infared bulb, or do you think it's best to have both | |

| all of our are pure infrared apart from the odd one that has a mat to bump it up a tad as its further away from the shared light, but yeah a bulb will be fine on its own | |
