Well my big old female emperor has passed away. I'm gutted. I got her as an adult and she lived happily in my bedroom (in a tank lol) for years. She ate her mate but gave me a lovely brood of babies and I will dearly miss her. Funeral details will be posted shortly and you are all invited haha. Just messing but I am seriously gutted.
As far as I know it was from old age. She stopped burrowing, slowed down on eating and towards the end stopped eating completely and spent most of her time sitting outside of her burrow.
The one good thing to come out of this (and I feel kind of bad saying this, but I am sure 99% of us think the same lol) is what can I use the enclosure for now? It's a reasonable size, measuring 16''x 10''x 10''. Part of me wants to get some more emps as I do love them but at the moment adults are hard to come by and/or fairly expensive. I would like something that I could keep communally. I like the look of Liocheles but I am unsure on whether they can be kept together.
