another housing question

hey sxorpion people.
i'm will probably be getting 4 P. imperator next month.
so... is there like a stocking guide for this species? i'm getting a 70cm by 40 by 40 viv, will this be to big or small for 4 juvies?
would it be better housing them seperately.. in 2 gallon faunariums for a while?

If they are equal size it should be ok. I would separate them untill they are adult though, tom.

why do you need to seperate them though? just general all round fightiness if that's a word lol

You can separate until adult if you would like but the Juveniles are communal. For each P. Imperator you need at least 2.5 - 5 gallons for an adult. So take that into consideration.

a us gallon as in 3.7 litres?
that's fine, the viv measures about 70 litres

Good old math, wait ill dig something up for you

It is 112 volumetric litres.
1 Gallon is 3.78 litres : 112/3.78 = 30 gallon tank

If an adult imperator needs 5 gallon you have room for 6 in that tank. But that is tight.

I'd say go for 5

edit: just make sure they have A LOT of hiding places and you can put 6 in it easily. Territoriality for a scorp means its burrow. Nothing more.

i think i'll be happy with 5 for a while after i get them, i may get another after a bit of time.. after all, that would total my meat eating animals up to 12, i'd need to start breeding dubias i think..

You could house a good 6 in their. I wold go with 4 though, that way it's not a squeeze.

yeah it would be good to have 4 with room, than more and risk territory disputes.
like i said.. it would also be more mouths to feed because i currently still buy crickets because i needed the livefood tubs.. for spiderlings lol.
plus im still trying to convince mum that roaches can't climb and can't survive at room temperature.

I feel you, I could breed roaches, but for the sake of my grandma I don't.

haha... i convinced her to let me buy a scorpion.. after that 7 spiders, hopefully i will change her mind.
