| Cool -- I'll keep her humid (she's in a small KK by herself, the male's in a deli a bit smaller than that) and keep you posted. | |

| excellent choice of housing bro, i had better success using viles for those early instars compared to lil deli cups, not that i am against those lil deli's, vials seems to me the better way for me
much easier to control the moisture

| Thanks, 4thGen. I need to get a shot of her with the one that made it to 2I. Gimme about five minutes. Edit: Here we go! The second is clickable for zoom. So what do you think, Mark? Does she look like she could double-clutch? | |

| I'll be sure to keep everyone posted on her development. A few months ago (February-ish?) Brian S told me I was heading into uncharted territory with this one and that I should keep track of what happens, because that's how we learn. The "uncharted territory" was that I'd neglected to give her a wintering period by keeping her warm all winter long. I suppose that's what I get for normally keeping tropical scorps. | |

| bro if you didn't know , than it's really not ya fault. Now that you know, i am pretty sure you will give a cooling off period right.
See i didn't know a thing or even heard of the winterizing scorpions and T's. Now that i know of this i will be doing it this coming winter

| Oh, I'll definitely winter her this year. Brian wasn't really upset with me or anything; he seemed to think it was a good opportunity to "see what happens." | |

| Lol at Brian seeing it as a good opportunity to "see what happens". Lab rat much Mike. =p
Anyway, apart from C.hentzi, what other species or genus requires a wintering period?

| I guess anything from a temperate climate would benefit from a wintering period. The species that lives in the same area I do, some keepers have been known to put them in the refrigerator for a month or so. By the way, the little 2I came off her back last night. I need to get him in his own vial today. | |

| How many of yours survived, 4thGen? Mine had a tiny brood compared to yours, which is why I'm hoping she might double-clutch. | |

| a lot of them actually. that was my first scorp so i didnt really know how to care for them. some of them got caught in between those rocks and died. or a larger cricket would attack them. i ended up letting them go. | |
