| As per everyone's request . . . In the pic that Lori took the day I found her (that's on the memory card at her parents' place), I could see ten first instars. In this pic I can count six (I think), but there may be more on the other side. | |

| Thanks guys! And yes, Mark, I'm planning on keeping these guys (and mating the female as soon as they disperse and she feeds). When I first got this species I had 1.2.6, but the six 2I were all so tiny and they dispersed in the adult tank -- I never saw them again.
This time, I'll be keeping them in their own separate vials.

| that is the best thing to do by separate vial or deli cup, better than chances of them surviving
soon enough you could have hundreds, just make sure you provide enough food for them all once you gwt to that point

| Good news, bad news: The bad news is, I checked on her today and saw no slings on her back -- just what looked like one dead 2I on the soil. I think it may have gotten too dry. Close examination showed no more babies on the soil or bark, so I think she may have decided to off them. The good news is, something happened with one of my other inverts that I now have the entry for this month's photo contest that I was waiting for. Incidentally, this is the second brood I've lost . . . out of two broods that have happened in my being in the hobby. | |

| Tell me about it . . . eventually, I'll get a brood and not kill it.
In the meantime I'll put the female back in with the male in a few days. She still seems kind of pudgy, though, and it was a small brood. I wonder if she'll double-clutch.

there is a good chance of you having ya female to pop out another clutch cuz these C. sp. are notorious for holding sperm for another brood or 2 in a single year, especially with these hentzi in my personal experience. Mike, next time try keeping the slings on a lilmore most compared to adults. In my experince, i have had better lick doing this plus misting them 2 to 3 times a week than the adults. Just make sure you take out any baody parts leftover after feeding of you will have mold to build up more than usually as any hobbist had this from time to time with tropical type speices of any kind. I hope this will help you out in the near future. Mark-

| Thanks Mark. In my mind it was a bit of a mental battle between not disturbing mom vs. keeping them moist. How long do you think I should keep her separate from my male to see if she indeed double-clutches? I'd like to mate them again in the hopes of a new brood. | |

| well to answer that honestly, i am not too sure, i would say maybe somewhere around a month to maybe 2 months, that is just a guess.
all i know is bro, once she popped out, and the slings are off her back i place that female in a deli cup by herself for a few months and i will mist her like it's the rainy season again and i have had 2 females pop out another brood. That is 2 females have dones this for me in the last 2 or 3 years aout of many of these hentzi i have had.
do keep her separated and see what happens and if you like i will send ya a pair
