Hello and welcome.

Do you know what species you have? Just thought I'd mention that I've had a scorpion hide itself in a burrow for over a month. When I went to finally dig it out it was sitting in the burrow fine. I think a hidden scorp is a happy scorp, aslong as the conditions are fine i'd leave it. Scorpions can go a long time without food.

Ah I see, I was sold a Hoffmannius/Vaejovis spinigerus as a stripe tailed devil scorpion so could be that or H/V. confusious maybe as they're quite similar. Did you catch it? Because i'm fairly sure these species inhabit Arizona. Are you able to get a pic up? You'll get better and more precise care information using the scientific name.

If you've not seen him for only 3 days then I really wouldn't worry.

Is that a sunspider in there with it? I'd take it out, as it's just as likely to eat the scorpion as the scorpion is to eat it.

A couple of suggestions:

First, put some substrate in there. Dry coconut fiber would work fine, so would dirt, or sand . . . just something to mimic a more "natural" flooring.

Second, a scorpion disappearing for a few days is nothing to worry about. Most will fast for weeks or months at a time (years in some species) and suffer no ill effects.

thanx for the input and advice ya it was a sun spider in with the scorp those are pics of when i first caught them both months ago since than i only have the scorp and has been in a bigger tank with an all sand substrate on one side of tank and sand and peat mix on otherside cuz i didnt know what the scorpion would prefer so gave it options.but also i was wondering since i haven't seen him ive been waiting and not putting any cricket in the tank for food incase maybe the scorp was hiding due to possibly molting soon or something is that the right idea or should i put a cricket in there still?

Sometimes they'll hide just to hide. Check on it once a week or so; if it hasn't molted and isn't really fat, offer it a small cricket. If it doesn't eat in 24 hours take the cricket out.

to give u guys an idea heres pics of the new tank and old tank big difference i kno and the smaller tank looks cluttered in the picture but not as bad as it seems had walking room all the way around the tank he had plenty room specialy for how small of a scorp it is he was out and circled that betta bowl everynight ate the crickets i fed him out in the open thats why the fact he has been missing so long makes me wonder

Perhaps he is finally happy he has room to hide? LOL Very Happy

Its winter time and mine have rarely come out...even though the temp in the tank is okay, they probably are just taking a loooong break. The other day the larger one came out for about a minute and a half. I finally found out the stuff I thought was fungus growing on my rocks was scorpion poo Very Happy

Probably best not to worry about it...maybe it's using the Force to sense your frustration LOL

Scorpions are hardy creatures if they are given the correct set up..just try putting feeders on it..and remove if uneaten for a day..tinkering with them often will cause unnecessary stress..let your scorpion be a scorpion..

i'm just confused i guess maybe thinking about it too much cuz i used to see him wondering around at night almost everynight and hide during the day honestly if you never seen your scorp how long would you wait before you would start pulling apart hides to make sure is still alive atleast i mean i check randomely threw out the night almost every night cuz i have the red light to see if i can catch a glimpse but never see him and i used to wait till he was out in the open at night to feed him to make sure crickets were being eatin and not hiding aswell and because hard to clean bug left overs if u dont see any if the scorp eats them in its hide where u cant see them u kno? and i even thought maybe becuz the new tank is so big might have him hiding cuz he's so small i dont kno like i said maybe im thinkin about it to much
