| Hi all just wondered if anyone else had noticed this with theirs (i know jamie has) our Scorpio maurus started using the burrows I made but have now dug vertical burrows in the corners which I find weird they sit head up as if standing tall on there tails with their claws just at the entrance as if waiting for prey to walk over the hole to grab ( which they have done a few times)
will get some pics next time they are at the surface, just wondered if this was normal or common? as there is very little info on scorps behaivour in general | |

| Thats a really good looking burrow, you are very lucky to see this behavior from your scorpion | |

| Nice pictures explains it well and impressive burrow. I found it odd too, only scorp i've seen to chose to do it so far. Mines in a good sized tank for it as is yours so it is out of choice. The sand in this tank gradually slopes up to the back of the tank. It burrowed in the pre started burrow at the front, went along the bottom and then vertically up the back and now stays at the opening at the back. Funny thing is it sits legs agains the glass so technically hanging out of a burrow on a hill upside down. These are the only pics at the mo, hope they show what I mean but I will add more to show through the back of the tank and the verticle burrow. | |
