only 5i pic i can get and dead adult pics

the only pic i can get of the 5i emperor
the hole its hiding in is 1 of 3




the adult female emperor that recently died...















now im only down to a 5i emperor and my 1st female adult emperor...
any ideas how to preserve it?
any ideas welcome at all

i would love to find out how to preserve aswell, nice pics hope mine grows that big, and soz 4 ur loss

ive found a couple sites online, but it all looks too complicated...
not to mention one said that you should practice, and practicing on one dead scorpion is a little difficult...

i know im probably gonna get another emp...

and i want a desert species for sure
i just dont know which one would be good for the conditions i keep my room

Ah it's easy lol I felt really strange making the first cut and starting to scoop insides out lol was not nice but you kinda get used to it pretty quick and just get on with it

If you procrastinate maybe try freezing it until you get the time to do it. Sorry about your loss, that was a monster of a scorp!

lol i know...she was HUGE...
my nickname for her when i cleaned the tank was monster bi**h...
and thats exactly what she was

Cover her in salt and stick her in an out of the way spot for a few weeks,that is what I did.It smells at first but it preserves the body very well.

lol ive come to the conclusion that im not gonna do it on my own...
so tomorrow, im goin to check on 2 local taxidermists

let us know how you get on im curious about how much they wil charge, i would do it for you for free if you was in the uk lol

if im honest it took me a while to get the courage to do mine lol i had it all set out ready n kept walking by it as the thought of scraping insides out made me feel sick but thought i can do this lol ...and did it wasnt a very nice thing to have to do but once your past the removing insides bit your fine

bex - its not that im squeamish or anything like that, it just goes into a conversation me and binks had a long time ago...

i put my scorpions before most others in my life...
im careful to be sure there is nothing more i can do when i check their tanks 3x a day
i take better care of my scorps than i do myself lol

It is very simple put the scorp in a container that is open topped, add salt to tottally cover,waite until the smell goes away and the salt is dry.That is all there is too it.
