| So i never thought i would post something like this so soon. i had this emp for about 7 months or so. lately i noticed that he stayed outside of his burrow a lot and i didnt know why. he seemed fine ate fine but today i found him dead. since this is my first scorpion i wanted to preserve him and i know that BEX did something with her emp. i was wandering what methods that are fairly easy and cheap could i use? | |

| Sorry Bro The best way to preserve it I think would be a jar and some isopropyl alcohol. Sorry again for your loss. | |

| although they are "bugs", lil arachnids, we grow attached to them. i know i would feel pain when its time for my emps and i to part. alot of people that dont care for these critters wouldnt understand that. sorry for your unexpected emp departure.
i too would like to know how to preserve them when the time comes. some girl on a reptile forum just cut off the pedipalps and tail. thats pretty messed up for me but who am i to tell her her ways of preservation were desecration.

| How about hitting a hole in the underside, let it dry out in the sun and afterward spray it with hairspray? Doenst that work too? | |

Works ok for slings but not for something as big as an emp. Besides, they get quite deformed when drying out. You could also cast the scorpion in resin, there's a how to in AB. I wanted to make it for my emp, but I cant find the resin here.

| i just remembered this! when i used to make model cars and airplanes i took some rubber cement to some cochroaches and made balls with roaches in the middle. i dont know the longterm effect as id just throw em at neighborhood kids. | |

| How clear does it get when it dries? I can't find usual resin for casting here, but I could try with that, have a bunch of dead scorps in the freezer | |

| I think you can do it with Epoxy resin. Basically all you need is cutting the corpse off from air, to prevent rot.
Epoxy resin can be found everywhere, marineyards etc... Wouldnt do it though.

| rubber cement dries pretty clear sometimes will take a lil tannish color and takes forever to dry. i think a thin layer around the body will work. | |

| Howdy dude, So sorry bout you losing an emp. I know I would shed tears if one of mine went. The whole thing with taxidery, supplied by our wonderful BEX, fascinates me. If you choose that route, I would like to know your result. But I hope you figure something out that works for you. Best regards man. | |
