Its up to ~140 scorplings now with my second female producing. Good thing is that I found homes for about 90 thus far and they aren't even ready for shipment. I have to admit, breeding a backup for assurance was kinda excessive considering the high birth count of this species and that I usually have good success breeding scorpions. This is my first time breeding such a high birth count species as well. It was a shock to go from average brood size of 5-12 (like Tityus sp.) or 20ish-30ish (most other buthids) to producing a Parabuthus brood that resides on the higher end of the amount of babies they're capable of producing. Its somewhat nerve-racking to have so many that you have to find homes for, but it was totally worth it. Getting to watch that part of the scorpions life-cycle is always enjoyable, especially when you have an extremely calm and docile monster Parabuthus transvaalicus that stayed out in the open for the most part during her entire gestation until the end in spite of having tons of hides. If I ever get my hands on some liosoma in half away decent shape, you'll see me back on here posting about breeding that species as well.

How big is a 3i p trans? Can it take down lat juvenile? For P.Trans, when they are hungry, they can take on Lats of almost 1.5 times their own body size. Preferably for juveniles, give them less Lats which are less then their body size

| Just to share a piece of good news i had.. oh well.. actually should be TWO Two of my 7th instar Parabuthus Transvaalicus females have molted to 8th instar over the past weekend! I love their size even more now! Almost on par with my 8i AA Hector female. Below is some former pics of the 7th instar females i posted some time ago. I'll update with the latest pics of the 8th instar females and their mating vid soon! It is surely a long process from the were juveniles till they are 8i now.. but i'm definitely savoring every moment! - Some older pics i've posted on two of my 7th instar females:

| @tlb_05 With patience, it is possible for P.Trans female to reach 8i bro @pluto Hey bro Generally speaking, P.Trans can achieve a bigger mass size as compared to A.Australis (Regular morphs) | |

| I believe all Parabuthus can spit, but none actually do it as Transvaalicus does. You have for instance P. Villosus black morph, which resembles this one and might spit less often.
I do believe they don't do it often.. it's an individual thing. I kept my previous couple for quite some time and never seen it. I lifted the lid of to rehouse this one and I got shot on immediately.
It is not too dangerous though, tell her that.
Btw, I dont think they really aim for you head.. so no harm done... This one keeps munching even when you turn him upside down. I think he is a psycho specimen.. I also picked him because his tail is almost as fat as the real fat tails as opposed to thick tails.. which Parabuthus actually are.

| Moustache says hi and thank you Well, a short sketch of her attitude: for starters, open her lid and she goes attack stance, push her with a pencil and she stings and stands ground. Push her harder and she pushes harder back. Push even harder and she topples over but she refuses to run to her shelter. Dunno about you, but when a monster a 3000 times your size pokes you with the eiffel tower I'd run as if there was no tomorrow. This takes balls! This one has them | |

| My two only adult P. t. specimen as of now. As you can see, determining sex on these is very easy. Males have huge pinchers whereas female have much more slender ones. I do however have a question for one of the pros. As you can see my female is smaller than my male. The male however is HUGE 1.5x times the largest androctonus A I have. What's it give when mating them? I'm affraid the male wil roflstomp the female tbh. ps. those pots are 15cm across... | |

| GS : I have a question for you! I have seen your Pt. have a black telson. My previous couple had almost black telsons too. They were adult.
The female, moustache is very big.. bigger than the ones I had, still she has a red telson and venom sac. I have the suspicion that she is not yet adult. Imagine how big she would get, damn. Now friend, you have juvenile Pt too, right? Do they have red venom sacs/telsons? Thanks Cheers
