| So the other night my two adult emperors mated. Anything I should know so I'm not in a panic/rush in a year or so? | |

| remove all other inhabitants (or the female) because she might go nuts and eat the lot of them. | |

| Well you can always keep them in there own little colony somewhere small like a critter carrier and just pre kill a few crickets and place them in there for them to find and scavenge. | |

| Fruit flies are probably too small for them. These little guys are voracious eaters, so giving them a good piece of chopped cricket will do. When she starts getting larger that may be a good time to separate the pair. No use risking a grumpy mother-to-be lol. I have also read that power feeding them and upping the temperature will get them to molt and develop more quickly. | |

| When I had my first brood, they started on fruit flies and were feeding on pinheads by the end of 2i. Food size was then slowly upped with every following molt. | |

| Thanks for the info. Right now in my tank are the 2 adults and 3 juveniles. So I can keep all the 2i's together so long as there is enough food? Or is it better to separate them into deli containers? I want to bring the chances of cannibalism to a minimum. Best way to handle 2i's? | |

| Your options will be:
1) Keep the babies with the mother 2) Separate the babies from the mother and keep communally 3) Separate from the mother and separate each baby into it's own individual container
It all depends on what you want to do.
Option 3 will have the highest chance of survival and will have the minimum risk of cannibalism (obviously lol).

| Essentially yes, but I like to raise the humidity a little - helps with the birthing & molting. | |

| to feed a 2i scorp i had a while ago, i would get a big fat adult female cricket and put her in the tank with a small container on top. then 15 mins later take her out. then you get just about the right number of crickets hatch and dont get entirely overrun with the little rascals. good luck with the babies. in my years of scorpion keeping (must have had at least 35 over the years) i have never got them to breed successfully. | |
