| hi, i have an imperial scorpy who looks to have moulted, i say looks to have as there are bits of him all over the tank, so as it has been over 6 months since i last did it i need to get him out, problem is is that he has made a lovely burrow in the middle of the tank and can not be seen during the day as he only comes out at night, so any tips would be great.
Also any ideas why he has all his old exo all over the place, last time he moulted in one piece?????

| What exactly are you cleaning his tank for, the little pieces? Do you only have one scorpion in the tank? | |

| it might have ripped it up trying to remove it from its burrow, or something like a cricket might have decided to munch it. | |

| That is normal. Sometimes its all in one piece, other times its broken up from where its been moved about.
Why do you need to get him out?
Scorps shouldn't be handled and can't be tamed per say. You also shouldn't handle him considering he's just molted.

| Really wanted to get him out just to tidy the place up a bit, i normally do my chile once a year but if i dont have to disturb him and all i need do is spot clean now and then NOT full clean then ill leave him be as he seems well settled in his burrow. shame to disturb him needlessly | |

| If it died of old age, then just mix the substrate around - no need to clean it all out and replace with new coir. | |
