How do I get my EMP to use his stinger.

Hi first post here - this forum kicks serious by the way.

I know they don't use it much, but I'd like to see him use it, just once... how can I provoke that?

you really dont want to, it involves alot of stress on the scorpion or prey their size and larger. if your scorp is using its stinger, then TONE down the stress you're causing it.

Yep, your emp is unlikely to sting but the worst decision you could make would be to provoke it in any way shape or form as it causes undue amounts of stress and can have an impact on how long they live after that. If you're lucky you might see it sting it's prey from time to time but that doesn't normally happen because of their beastly pendipalps. (claws)

If you want to see a scorpion sting regularly get a scorp such as Hadrurus Arizonensis for example.

Anyway, as the others said, if an adult emp is using its stinger you're doing something wrong. If you really want to see an emp sting something, get a baby -- they don't have the pinching strength of adults and need to sting prey to incapacitate it.

I guess I'll accept that my scorpion won't use his stinger. I think I'm gonna try to get a desert hairy in that case, but where I live (in quebec, canada), Ive never seen a petshop that has anything else than emps.

Oh well! If anyone happens to know how I can get my hands on one, please let me know.

i've never been stung, but ive been pinched, and if i'm not allergic, i'd rather be stung. so thats why they dont need their stinger mostly.

Keep an eye on the classifieds . . . most posters are from the US or Europe, but you might get lucky and find someone who can send something to Canada.

never been pinched by an emp, but I've been pinched by a rusty crayfish and it drew blood lol. They have little hooks at the end of their claws and it hurts to say the least haha

ive been stung and pinched by an emperor, most deffinatly would rather get stung again, my sub-adult girl can put quite the squeeze on you, the sting however was a 1 out of 10

ive had my newest addition grab ahold of my pinky finger while on my hand a decide not to let go... not a good position.. then he decided he was going to try and chew on my pinky finger as well lol
