| My emp gave birth in april 09. When it births, try not to keep looking at her, but just leave her be for a couple of days. Possibly put a towel over the front of the tank to stop you from looking... that's what i did. | |

| i've heard different things
1. commune with mommy 2. commune with siblings 3. separate the babies
it depends on the specie i'm sure, but apparently emps can be kept in either 1,2, or 3. not saying that is a fact; its what ive read. if shes eating them, separate the babies and mom, if the babies arent getting along, separate the babies. i guess just try that

| I separated mine from the mother once they were off her back. It took 14 days and that was when they were 2i. Since then i have kept all of the babies together in a 2ft by 1 by 1ft tank and they are all doing fine at 4i. I give them plenty of food and 3 large hides. | |

| at the start i had at least 15, however the most i've seen at any one time since is 10. That's because of their massive, deep burrows. There are probably more, it's just that i don't see them all at the same time.
Because i know i have at least 10 that i see on a regular basis, i put in about 8-10 standard sized crickets and 2 extra large locust. That way, there is plenty of food and there won't be a risk of fighting over food.
All of the crix and locusts usually disappear within 24 hours.
..and i feed them every 5-7 days

| After seeing those pics, i think you might have at least a couple more weeks as she is nicely stretched out but doesn't look very round to me.
Same this that i had and then 3-4 weeks later..BAM.
I will post pics of mine about 6 weeks before she birthed.

| Its ok once you get them on your hand because as far as they're concerned, your hand is then the ground and so it would not make sense for them to attack the ground. | |

| Oh right. Yeah, their claws are powerful as hell aren't they.
Did you ever find out why it was so aggressive? or was it just a case of an individual aggro scorp?
