gravid or fat

how do i no if my scorpion is gravid or just fat, i got her at the reptile expo in april and i was also wondering how long can they carry sperm for ????? im new to this site im gonna try to add a pic. or hopfully post this the right way......eeeek

I would steer away from watergel. I have heard not so good things about it.

With most scorpions you can see embryos thru the plural membrane (soft tissue on the side). They also then to have gaps more between the rear tergites than the front. If it is more of an even gapage between the plates then it is more than likely a molt. Also from the pic it looks to be an Emperor scorpion. You can sometimes tell if it is an adult by telson (stinger) color. Your's looks fairly white which indicates it has more molts to go. If you can get a shot of its underside, more specifically the pectine (wings) we can positively ID it as a female. Emperors are also known for getting fat. She maybe drinking a lot because of low humidity levels. What do you have it at now for humidity and temp?

there's a really good sexing guide in the emperor scorp thread on the main forum. You should be able to sex it from there if you cant get a good picture. Its a pain when your camera aint up to the job - know that one all to well

She's gonna need more substrate.
I personally like keeping live plants but in my expriance i can say that they are not gonna last with an emp. If you want some green I recomned just moss (frog moss works fine)

yeah i had plants with my emps and was ok for a lil untill they started climbing all over them and slowly destroying them, and then there is the issue with th u.v obviosly the scorps better off without it but the plants will slowly die, if you want plants just for decoration then use plastic ones.

Does look creamy...but it could be the flash it's either one molt away from adulthood or an adult already.

i think its about to moult, it cant be pregnant if it's still a juvinile. how often do you feed her?
