| Yeah, at first a few people (possibly you included!) told me she might be in pre-molt. But nearly two months afterwards I'm guessing that is not at all the case.
Appetite; she was eating pretty well about 3 or 4 weeks ago. She has refused food since then..
her water supply is fine and she doesn't seam weak at all. She's just simply not eating.

| If she's actually gravid, I feel honored and very proud! I really hope she is. She hasn't been getting fatter, but she's been staying at this pudgey state without eating much at all. About a month ago she ate 3 small crickets and I thought she was just bloated. But, yeah, it's been a month and still pudgey around the edges. However, she is small species of scorpion, I don't think she'll get much bigger than she is now. I guess only time will tell! I hope she's gravid though cause what I've read these scorpions can be housed together and I would absolutely love to have a small home with mini scorpions in it . I'll go search for Pluto's threads now. | |

| I dont have any Vaejovid species sir Floyd, but I do hope for you she is gravid. She certainly looks that way. 8 to 12 months of gestation period. So it could well be that way.
If it begins to bask out in the open and walks clumsy.. its a matter of weeks, if not days... at least androctonus do it that way. Good luck!

| You should get some! It's like having all the power of a fierce scorpion all under the size of 2 inches. Not for holding, though. Tried that once, fast little bugger and matches the color of the carpet.
I was looking at her last night and was fearing she may just be fat because I really couldn't see any lumps or embryo looking things. But then again, she's a small little fella so it might be different. I really don't know.

| My Parabuthus is gravid too, but I dont see any embryo either. I think it might be an androctonus kind of thing. You can only see some shades on those.
Looks like you're well in love with that species! Nice one! Enjoy them

| Well that's reassuring. She's not really extremely fat or anything. As I mentioned I've had her for a good 8 months and she hasn't always looked like this, she doesn't eat very much. Going to the store today to get some pete moss as it may be more comfortable than just dirt. I can take new pictures but she doesn't look much different at all then when I took those pictures about a month ago. Might try holding her again today . She never stings or tries to unless I'm lightly pressing near her head. | |

| your new pics to me say gravidity! im still a noob though, the only gravid scorp ive had was a c.sculpt.i couldnt see the babies in her sides either, probably like Samuto said the size, color and brood quantity play a part in that aspect. being a dad to a bunch of lil scorps is very interesting, and fun to observe their actions and growth. id start looking for flightless fruit flies before the time comes so you know where to find so your prepared when they get off the moms back.might be jumping the gun but it doesnt hurt to be ready.also deli cups.haaa hopefully she drops some on you,a pleasant experience in scorp keeping indeed. hmmm for your housing question,i think it wouldnt hurt to keep the water bowl filled and a small portion around the bowl moist to add a lil more humidity in that general area. hehehe pete.peat moss doesnt smell as good as eco earth to me but it does its job well and not like your getting it to smell it. i like opening my emp viv to smell the fresh eco earth.mmmmh. by the way what species of vaejovis is that? | |

| So today was an adventure. I went a town over with the girlfriend and found a new scorpion. Same species I'm pretty sure, found it in the same spot. It is significantly larger than my current one. Do scorpions have to be their full size to have brood?
Not sure the exact species of Vaejovis. Bought some pete today, without seeing your post about the eco earth -_-. I've read that Vaejovis's can be housed together but since one of them may be gravid it would probably be best to house them separately.
So, I'll keep the thread going and possibly make a new one about this new guy I found today.

| . Does it matter that she's not the full size that her species can grow to? I just caught another one that is full sized (or close to it) and it's quite larger than her. | |

| I suppose that only time will tell. I sort of have a feeling she may not be because of the other scorpion I found yesterday is at least double her size and definitely the same species | |

| What is your location? That can help narrow down what species it is, or at least what species it isn't. In any case, I'd say that you will have a brood on her back very soon... | |

| I live in California, SLO County. I found the scorpion near a Middle school. The terrain is sandy, not very moist at all. She was in a small hole that I assume was once a spiders. Here is a Google maps pic of the area I found her in. If you're bored and want to check the area out yourself Google Maps "Los Osos Middle School, El Morro Avenue, CA" As for the molt possibility, I doubt it simply because of how long she's been this fat. I think that as Bex said, she may just be fat which would be sad. Reason being is because as I said earlier I have another scorpion that I'm pretty damn sure is the same species and it's twice as big. Can they become gravid before they reach full adulthood? Sorry for all the questions lol. I'm ecstatic about being a possible father :') But then again, questions make this forum go round. | |

| No sir. Looks exactly the same just larger. I'll take a picture Yes, he's missing a leg and a pincher but that's alright! Makes him unique. We have a ton of lizards here so I imagine that one tried to take a bite out of him. Second picture is compared to my pinky. Small species. Comparison; - Spoiler:
