this is my gravid LQ. she's getting big. i'm guessing she'll pop within a month?
i really need to cover those air holes or something because when she pops, i'm willing to be that the scorplings will try and crawl out of them. its just a plastic shoebox and its all i had at the time. i don't want to transfer her to a new enclosure now because of stressing her and how far along she is.
she has a problem with her genital operculum. it looks like there's sand stuck in it. it could also be mycosis but i'm thinking its the black sand i use. i dont like the stuff. its that sand you get at the pet store. its really fine. i don't think its too great for scorpions because if any wet sand will stick all over the scorpion.
i'm not getting my hopes up just yet about a successful brood. her problem is bugging me and she's been gravid for a long time now. i'm not exactly sure since when but i think its been about a year now. last time she ended up popping out dead scorplings and some embryos, IIRC. i've been keeping her a lot warmer within the past couple months. i think that was part of the reason she had a bad brood last time.
i think i can see little scorplings inside of her but i'm not exactly sure.
my phone decided to cooperate and give me a decent pic this time
she's such a beautiful scorp! this one's my favorite. i've had her for 5 years now. this will probably be her last attempt at producing a brood.
