| From the pics I think it's safe to say that it is a female, and she looks quite gravid to me | |

| It's very well possible! She's an adult. You can tell by the color of her telson (stinger). Adults have a dark-reddish/brownish-colored telson and juveniles' is cream-colored. Good luck! ( Edit: I moved this to the Emperor forum ) | |

| Whoa, she's bigger than i thought. I think she is close to birthing and so is refusing food and is aggressive. I didn't think so intially but after seeing that new pic i'm pretty sure this is the reason why she is refusing food etc. Try and keep the humidity on the high side for now | |

| The embryos aren't usually visible in the membrane in emps as the membranes are quite thick. | |

| They normally won't move much due to their low metabolism. So nothing to worry about.
The only time you should be worried if they're not moving is when the tail is straight and dragging across the ground.

| If a scorpion is active and dragging its tail, it's just wiping its butt.
While I'll say it's distinctly possible you have a gravid female, I don't know how people can keep saying it's a female without seeing the pectines. To confirm, I'd think a picture of the underside of your scorpion is necessary.
By the way, what substrate are you using? It looks a bit too dry in there.

| its cocoa fibre and even though the substrate looks dry i do spray it severel time a day(its a 93 litre tank) so i have to do it alot but i never let the humidity drop below70-80, or should i raise it?? il get a picture of the pectines for you tonight, cheers for all the help:) | |

| Spraying does almost nothing to raise humidity since it only gets the upper layer damp. Just dump some water on the substrate.
And your scorp certainly looks female to me, so I think I'll side with the other folks who said she was gravid.

| stressed? are her conditions alright? if so, she may be preggers. usually though, its only the last few days before birth where she hides and is sluggish. | |

| All I would reccommend would be to make sure the humidity is high enough and then leave her be for a few days and see what happens. My guess is that she is close to birthing. | |
