Emp acting funny

Hello! I'm the new owner of an emperor scorpion and absolutely love it! I had it for about 3 weeks now and today he's been doing something a little weird and its the first time I see him doing that. He's out of his burrow, butt up in the air against the heat pad (which is on the side of the terrarium). I'm thinking he might be cold.. but it's strange because the light has been on for a while and so is the heat pad. It should be at its warmest.. any idea?

maybe hes been a bit chilly in his burrow for a little while and just needs a quick warm up on his bum

Like a cat can be in a hot room with a fire on...they still like to sit right infront of the fire.
My female pandinus did the same in winter! so I thought "too cold"
but when I put my hand into the tank to feel the temp...nice and toasty in there. even though the hot summer we have had, still she has been pressed to the side.

Dont worry about it, everything is fine
All my scorps do this some time to time...while one does it ALL the time

My scorplings used to do it...then they burrowed under and had their tunnels next to the glass where the pad was

don't worry about it, they all do it. Most do it on a regular basis. Very Happy
