| I bought some meal worms today and tried feeding him one but he wont evn try eating it! so then i tried feeding him a cricket and i even put him infront of my scorp and barely tried grabing the cricket....i kept trying and trying but i think he is just lazy.... i know he hungry though! i think he is use to me getting the crix and put them inside his burrow hole...he wont chase after it or be fast enough to grab it! i finnally gave up so i made the crcket get in burrow hole and the scorp finnaly grabed it and stuck it in his mouth....my question is...is he or she getting too old? i got him 3 mnths ago from petco... his stinger is dark brown... | |

| Don't try and force feed it dude you'll stress him out if he doesn't eat it take it out and try a few days later. Emps are known for fasting. If you mess around his burrow hole your just gunnah stress him out.Post a picture someone might be able to tell you if he's old. As for the stinger they all have redish brown stingers. | |

| I moved this to the emperor section. You're right it is an adult but I suggest you read the FAQ section of the emperor zone. - Quote :
- Q: My Emperor Scorpion isn’t eating! What should I do?
A: Take the prey item out and go watch TV. Usually scorpions will not eat for 5-10 days prior to a molt and should not be given food for 7-10 days after a molt. So if it’s a juvenile or sub-adult it may be only coming up for a molt. The other cause could be it’s just not hungry. You should feed your scorpion 1-2 times a week and 1-2 proper sized crickets each feeding or just one proper sized roach for the size of the scorpion. Don’t forget to remove the prey item after 24 if it is not eaten.

| They tend to attack whatever moves. Mealworms and superworms tend to dig and not hop around the scorpion. | |

Why do they eat pinky mice? those don't move too much.

Don't, stay with crickets or switch to something that moves alot meal-worms are used more for reptiles.

| And when was the last time he ate? You can't really make a scorpion eat anything it might not want food for the next week. | |

| I thought you said he didn't eat for five days? Anyway feed him 3 to 4 times a week. If the feeder is not gone by the next day then take it out and wait a couple days before feeding him again. | |

| Calm down a bit there -- no need to panic.
As Eddy pointed out there's nothing wrong with a scorp not eating for five days, weeks, or months.
You shouldn't worry about him not liking mealworms either. (They're a pretty fatty food.)
As far as age goes, you can't tell anything other than if it's an adult or not, though they do slow down as they get old.

Why do they eat pinky mice? those don't move too much. I really hate when people feed verts to their inverts but whatever you feed your scorpion is up to you. People who "support" the use of pinkies as feeders say that in the wild they'll occasionally eat mice and lizards and such but in reality mice make up about 1 percent of their diet. They can go they're whole life not eating them. To me it's just a cruel way to kill a mouse. Don't get me wrong I hate mice and when I used to feed my BP i would prekill them myself sometime but I made sure to do it quick. Just my 2 cents.

| I just figure that the brain of a new born baby mouse isnt developed enough to really know whats happening. I only did it the one time and I did feel pretty bad about it. I don't plan on doing it again. | |

| Offer the food item, then take it away. I normally feed at night and by the morning if nothing is eaten I remove the item and wait a few more days to a week and then I offer again. | |
