| it all started so promisingly, got the "kiss" and everything but for some reason it broke up, so i decided to leave them overnight to see if they might change their minds whilst i wasn't watching, and the male decided to change tactics, maybe he thought a bit of metasoma chopping might get her in the mood. it didnt and now he is on the naughty step and she is in the freezer | |

| they don't always kill the male after mating. it all depends on what the female wants do (most of the time) usually the male will make a speedy getaway.. | |

| most people keep this species communally without any troubles, but with ANY species "communal" or not, there is ALWAYS a chance of canibalism.

| For most Heterometrus spp. the risk is small enough for it to be worth setting up a community. IMO, communal tanks are a lot more interesting. | |
