| The female will most likely try and eat him so he will need to be removed to his own vivarium/ or method of housing | |

| well, I had a successful mating and they both seemed fine after. I saw them doing the dance, I let them be and came back to see a spermatophore. I then came back about 2 hours later and saw them do it again haha. Saw a second spermatophore lol
If you don't want to risk it, remove the male. I left him in there and it was fine.

| yup, mating is not always successful and yes, they can mate again afterward too. I didn't even plan on having them mate actually haha. I just kept them together and one day saw them mating. The male has passed away, but I believe the mating was successful because the female is getting larger. | |

| He passed away several months after the mating. He probably died due to stress or old age. The reason I say stress is because I introduced an emperor scorpion and it kept harassing him. I took the emp out, but my heterometrus died shortly after. | |

| What species are we talking about here? I've only mated Uroctonus mordax and Centruroides exilicauda, and in both cases the two scorpions just wandered off in their own directions. - binksyboy3 wrote:

Stop spreading misinformation. This isn't even true with mantids or black widows.

| That doesn't deserve a "most likely" designation then. | |
