scorpion mating

how can i know my scorpions had successfully mated or not?

i borrowed a male from my friend and he's been asking to have it back. i already saw them mate for 2 times already and how can i confirm the mating has been a success?

Well, did you see a spermataphore after the mating?

she's been burrowing further into the substrate and creating a new burrow that seems deeper. can i say that its a sign that the mating is succesfull?

She will become progressively aggressive as time goes on but will only start getting "fat" after a few months.

The burrowing could just be her extending her burrow. Some of my emperors will dig for days before resting for a week and then digging again until they are happy. I guess for them, the deeper the better.

i read somewhere that the ammount of peoplewho were keeping scorp's and then these were giving birth after say 2 years of owning the scorpion and that said scorp having no other interaction with a male lead peoplestudying them to believe that scorps have the ability to store or delay birth until mother decided the time and conditions were right to do so - could be a load of BS that i read but worth a mention i tought - good luck with it - its an amazing site to watch when she has given birth

Once she is near enough ready, a sudden increase in humidity can definitely help to prompt birth because as you said, the mother will realise and often take the opportunity while she can.

worth also saying once they are born keep the humidity quite high too asit helps when thy moult -too dry and they can get stuck and die -this happened to a few of mine also dont stress the mother - try not to interact with her as she will eat them

thanks guys.. i've been increasing the humidity for a while now so that maybe she'll find it suitable.

lets hope she does get pregnant
