https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTloECoDkJ8
and got me thinking, does this mean you could keep these 2 genus together or is this guy just havin us on, and yeah before anyone mentions it i dont beleive that they could mate together and actually produce a hybrid, although it would be class! lol

| Some people have tried it.
Some haven't had problems, some have.
I'd rather not risk it. | |

| hmm didnt know that. might try it someday, u think if there was 1 heterometrus in a tank with 3 emps there would be less problems, considerin that heterometrus is a lot more aggressive than pandinus, especially my one | |

| in the past i have kept hets and pandinus together successfully, however.... that was quite a long time ago, young and daft and all that. I did it as an experiment. These days I would recomend not to keep them together | |

| i think when you keep species together u have to consider if there valuable to u or if u dont mind some being eaten! i think at the end of the day we buy these wonderfull arachnids to keep and admire not kill them! it doesn't mean to say u cant, as some have proven u can, but the only reason i'll put any together is for breeding. | |

| yeha same but that raises the question of is there any point in mating 2 species from thousands of miles apart is it even possible to get any scorplings out of such a pairing? | |

| I think it might be possible in very simmilar species, but there are many things you have to consider... the shape of the opposing species' spermatophore may not be the correst shape for the other species' operculum, the males' stimuli might not be correst for that species.. all that sort of stuff. | |

| I've heard of people cohabiting these genera for years and never once heard of confirmed hybrid offspring.
The only hybrid arachnids I've heard of were tarantulas and both parents were from the same genus.
But anytime anyone goes into this it opens up a huge debate on keeping captive bloodlines pure and results in much flaming.

| I won't believe it until I see it occurring in conditions that would eliminate other possibilities (WC gravid, mating with others in the tank of the same species, etc.). | |

| I've owned an asian forest scorpion for quite sometime and I just bought a baby red claw today and I love the animals waay too much to risk them being harmed or even stressed. They are better left to their own territory in my opinion. My guess is they will be much happier too. | |
