What I often hear said is that the are communal until they aren't, maning they will get along with eachother, but may fight at any moment. I am not sure how well different species would get along, though.

There are too many Heterometrus species to list. Most of them are not available in the hobby. (Especially inn the U.S.) You could take a look at this: http://www.science.marshall.edu/fet/euscorpius/p2004_15.pdf
No, not all of them are communal. Most of the ones that are commonly available are though.
As sontron said though, all scorpions are communal until they are not.
