i just use tap water. no problems. but from what i've heard, tap water in US/UK/EU area are very hard in terms of water softness / dH, making it dangerous to use right away for animals that have no lungs. you could use bottled water or let normal tap water stand for about 24-48 hrs before use.

I have always used tap water for my inverts with no problems.

I think any commercial cricket food is fine to use. I usually "gut load" my crickets overnight with fresh fruits and veggies before feeding them to my inverts. That way the inverts can suck the juices of the fresh fruits and veggies from the gut track of the crickets. If you give the crickets plenty of fresh fruits and veggies there is no need to offer them water as they will get moisture from the fruit and veggies.

Feed the crickets with as much food they can finish. But be sure the crickets are full a day before feeding it to your emp

That combo food is good. Definitely always keep food with the crickets. If you get a bunch of crickets at once and plan to keep them for awhile try to keep the crickets' cage reasonably clean. Too much poo in their cage will kill them (and stink). If I'm going to keep crickets for awhile I like to feed them fruits and veggies that don't wilt too fast like zucchini, carrots, apples, etc.

A good rule-of-thumb is not to feed prey to a scorp that is larger than the scorp's body (without the tail). I would think a locus would be a bit large unless your locusts are smaller than the one's here in Texas.

You should always use captive bred feeders. Anything from outside could be exposed to pesticides or host parasites.

aah right thanks makes sense :)how ever there was a cricket  captive bred got box of them)  i put in the tank last night and well around 1pm this afternoon saw the scorpion at the entrance of his burrow with his claws out which i usually see at night and the cricket went past, the scorpion tried to go for it but failed then 5 mins later scorpion was back in its burrow but the cricket went in the burrow and the scorpion attacked and got it  in its mouth and pincers and i think ate it but cant see him eating in its burrow to far in but don't they eat of a night?

Some will eat only at night and some will eat anytime you give them prey. Kinda like us!

thanks mate took the worry off my chest Smile , he does eat mainly of a night (there brown crickets size 4th) so its all good hes had 3 crickets the past 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) 1 a night but 1 in the day now im not gonna feed him till next week around Tuesday with 1-2 crickets but if be eats one then can i give him the other one the next day (Wednesday) and keep it at that router or is 1 cricket enough a week being every tuesday night? some are slightly bigger but are mainly small crickets, what does it mean when the emp is just waiting in the burrow with his pincer open sticking out a little bit im guess hunting? as i put a live cricket in the tweezers and waggled it around outside the burrow like as if it was minding its own business and bam! the emp got it in its mouth and went back in the burrow. thanks all info is appreciated scorpion
