| Found this little guy near my house. I've lived in the East SF Bay area for 20 years and this is the first time I have found a scorpion, and I flip a ton of stones. I was thinking he is Uroctonus mordax or Pseudouroctonus iviei, both common here, but to my untrained eye they look nearly the same. He is no more than 2cm long. Whatever species it is, I am curious to know how big they get. Side: Stinger: Top: | |

| Why did no one reply to this? It looks like Pseudouroctonus iviei to me based on the coloration of the legs and the width of the metasoma compared to the mesosoma. | |

| yep, pseudouroctonus.
Uroctonus get much larger, have larger claws, and a skinny tail. | |

| Thanks for the help. I had recieved a pm about the species info but was still unsure about some of the differences between Uroctonus and Pseudouroctonus. | |
